Shop With A Cop

Rotary's annual holiday tradition.

In 2002, the Rotary Club of Tulsa initiated an annual outreach to at-risk Tulsa children who otherwise may have only negative impressions of police officers.  On a Saturday morning during the holiday shopping season, volunteer Rotarians, along with members of the Fraternal Order of Police, meet with kids at an area Target store and go over each child's gift wish list for their parents and siblings.  While an officer and child wander through the aisles shopping for the family members, Rotarians secretly shop for the kids.  Shop With A Cop has become an annual heart-warming holiday tradition for club members.
