Tulsa Honors Past President Stan Hawkins

ResizedImage110145-Hawkins-Stanley-inside-article2All of Tulsa honored long-time Tulsa fire chief and past club president Stanley Hawkins upon his deathon Sunday, July30, at the age of 92. At his Wednesday funeral at First Christian Church, a giant U.S. flag was suspended from Fire Department tower trucks to honor his years of service to the city and to the country.  He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Stan served as club president 1984-85 and continued to serve as a respected leader in the club for several years.  He served as a Tulsa firefighter for 37 years, the last 21 as fire chief.  Among his other accomplishments, Stanley served as president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs.

A memorial resolution will be brought before the club at a later date.
